The Charles R. Wood Theater will present a Tribute for the 15th Anniversary of September 11, 2001 Tragedy the weekend of September 9-11, 2016.  As part of this original multi-media production, the Wood Theater is inviting local residents to submit brief narratives of their memories of the event.

2016 year marks the first anniversary of September 11 with a generation of young folks who were not alive at the time of the tragedy.  Consequently, the Wood Theater is requesting that all submissions be written by those old enough to remember the September 11, 2001 attacks.

Anyone interested in submitting a narrative should answer the following question in the body of their story:

“Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning That September Day?”

The question comes from the first line of Alan Jackson’s tribute song written in response to the 9.11.01 events.

Submissions should include details about where the person was on September 11, 2001 and how they were impacted by the day’s events.  Narratives may be in prose or poetic form.  In addition, authors of any submissions accepted by the Wood Theater for this original production, will have the option to read their story aloud or give permission for a local actor to read their story.

All submissions will be reviewed by the Wood Theater and will be subject to recommended editing.

Narratives should be reasonably brief in length.  Recommended length is 2-5 minutes read aloud.  Responses should be devoid of political commentary and be accurate accounts or personal reflections about how a specific individual experienced the events.

All narratives must be submitted no later than Sunday, July 10, 2016, to the Charles R. Wood Theater,

207 Glen Street, Glens Falls, NY  12801, attention:  9.11.01 Tribute Project.  Submissions can also be delivered via email to erin@woodtheater.org.

Tickets to the show will be available at the door with a suggested $10.00 donation.  A portion of proceeds from the show will be donated to victims of the 9/11 tragedy.
