The Charles R. Wood Theater is 501(c)3 nonprofit year-round performing arts center. We manage a 294 seat auditorium with fully professional and updated technical systems. The theater also houses a large rehearsal space, office space, technical set building space and fully ADA compliant dressing rooms. Nearly 350 events happen at the Wood Theater each year including theater performances, musicals, concerts, dance performances, meetings, parties, weddings, rehearsals, auditions and educational classes.
The mission of the Charles R. Wood Theater is to serve all people within the greater Glens Falls region by:
- Committing to the responsible ownership and management of a year-round performing arts facility in downtown Glens Falls.
- Attracting and promoting cultural events and productions.
- Engaging the public in the performing arts.
- Striving to be an economic engine for downtown Glens Falls and the lower Adirondack region.
The Charles R. Wood Theater will be the recognized year-round home for the performing arts and a vital component in the growth and success of the lower Adirondack region.

Reporting to and in partnership with the Board of Directors, the Development Director will spearhead development efforts as the Charles R. Wood Theater (CRWT) continues to grow. The Development Director is responsible for planning, organizing and directing all of the CRWTs fundraising including the major gifts program, annual appeal, planned giving, special events and capital campaigns. A new position in the organization, the Development Director will have the opportunity to build the development function and be an external face for the CRWT.
