Singing Anchors presented by the Glens Falls Civic Center Foundation and the Charles R. Wood Theater

The Singing Anchors were formed for a one-time-only cabaret at Washington County’s Fort Salem Theater in November, 2009. WNYT news anchor Benita Zahn had been performing at the Salem venue since new ownership renovated the legendary summer stock house in 2007. WAR AT HOME: Lessons in Courage - 15th Anniversary 9/11 Tribute September 10, 2016 at 7:00 PM & September 11, at 2:00 PM

This original multi-media program produced by The Wood Theatre for the Greater Glens Falls Community is intended to commemorate the events of 9.11.01.The production will open with a brief review of the tragic events of September 11, 2001. However, through original writings and some original songs, 12 local actors will share stories of remembrance, strength, and resilience written by adults and children who were impacted either directly or indirectly by the tragic events that occurred in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Though some stories will be sorrowful, the focus of all the personal and unforgettable narratives is to provide audiences with lessons in courage that are equally moving and inspiring. Donations at both performances are encouraged with proceeds going to the WTC Memorial Museum.
